LAST WEEK'S ROUND UP: Southern live trade took place mostly
on Wednesday and was at $105, roughly $5 lower than the prior
week's weighted averages. Northern dressed trade was delayed
until Thursday with a full range of $165 to $172, mostly
$172, about $10 lower than the previous week's weighted
average basis Nebraska. According to the Friday afternoon
Mandatory reports weekly trade volumes were as follows: KS
9,538; NE 8,753; TX 6,635; CO Not available due to
confidentiality; IA 8,336.
DTN MORNING COMMENTS: The country is typically quiet this
Monday morning with bids and asking prices not established as
of yet. Significant trade volume will likely be delayed until
the second half of the week. Beef cutouts are expected to be
higher with generally light box movement.
For the week ending August 10, 2019, Imported Beef Passed for
Entry in the U.S. totaled 35,618, 96.89% of the previous week
and 91.34% of the prior 4-week average.
